My latest half-baked idea: since grocery stores already have identifying info on us (credit card, plus possibly a “loyalty” card), as well as our purchase data… why not have something like Best When Used By…, but populated with the items from our latest purchase; it could even channel us to recipes that combine what we’ve got in our fridge (especially stuff that’s about to spoil…)
Doughnut Fight!
Part 2 of today’s “Food & Politics” theme: it’s easy enough to forget that Christopher Dodd — the man who helped write the Family and Medical Leave Act, and apparently an expert on doughnut ballistics — is, in fact, running for president.
Obama’s loose meat
I’ve gotta hand it to him: eating Maid-Rite’s signature “loose meat” sandwich (here, just up the road from where I went to college) may just convince voters that he has the stomach to handle that nation’s big issues.
